The Blackwater North State School sport and physical education programs give our students the opportunity to develop the proper fundamental skills needed to keep our students happy, healthy, and functional. At BNSS, we target the physical, psychological, and social benefits of physical activity within all sport. With our great resources and facilities, we enable our students to become competent in a wide range of sport and activities such as swimming, rugby, netball, cricket, athletics, as well as more unique sports such as tchouckball.
Our Physical education classes are designed not only to fill our student’s toolbox with physical skills, but also to help build social skills and a positive psychological outlook. We model an ideal attitude around sportsmanship and positivity. Students learn to implement these strategies within the classroom setting to use in their personal life and relationships.
Students are given the opportunity to compete in sport in order to represent our school and Duaringa District at the Central Highland trials. Students that excel may be chosen to extend their representation to Central Highlands, and after that Capricornia. BNSS also partakes in non-representative tournaments for rugby league, rugby union, touch, and netball. As our school continues to grow, we look to extend these opportunities in order to give our students the chance and experiences needed to achieve success.
